Save This Life Microchips

Please read and share! This is especially important for owners of pets with a Save This Life brand microchip.

The Save This Life microchip registry has shut down without warning. Records indicate they have gone out of business and when we tried to call to request additional information for our affected pet owners, we got a message stating, "The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time."

If your pet has a Save This Life microchip, the microchip still works, but the information associated with the chip is no longer accessible through the Save This Life registry. You need to re-register the chip with a different registry so that your pet can be traced back to you, should the need arise.

There are free options like 24Petwatch and other companies such as HomeAgain that have a one-time registration fee but also offer the option of upgrading for additional services, if desired. Both of these are large, reputable companies. You can also register your pet's microchip with more than one company, if desired.

If you aren't sure of the brand of your pet's microchip, you can look it up by entering the number in the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)'s Microchip Registry Lookup. If you don't know your pet's microchip number, any vet clinic or shelter should be able to scan your pet and provide you with the number for free.

Microchips save lives! If your pet is not already microchipped, but you'd like them to get microchipped, we offer this service and use HomeAgain microchips. Don't hesitate to contact us for an appointment or more information.
