Dr. Doug
earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Detroit in
1988 and his veterinary doctorate degree from Michigan State University
in 1992. Dr. Molly and Dr. Doug have three children: Frances, Margaret,
and David. They live on a farm in neighboring Washington Township where
they raise Hampshire sheep and Boer goats. In Dr. Doug’s spare time, he
enjoys bicycling, jogging, gardening, and following the Spartan sports
teams. |

Dr. Molly
was raised on a small hobby farm here in Washington and attended Baldwin
Elementary, Van Hoosen Jr. High, and Adams High School. Dr. Molly then
ventured out west to Utah State University to earn a Bachelor of Science
degree in Bio-Veterinary Science before returning to Michigan State
University for veterinary school. Dr. Molly is currently a resident
working toward board certification as a veterinary dental specialist.
She enjoys raising the Angel children, lambs, kids, and crias. As for
spare time, you may spot Dr. Molly at any sheep show or even riding her
mountain bike around the park! |

Dr. Lisa
Degner is a 1994 graduate of the Michigan State University College of
Veterinary Medicine. She lives with her husband of 16 years, Dr. Dan
(also a veterinarian). They have a son, Ethan (born in August 2004),
and a daughter, Autumn (born in May 2007), as well as a variety of pets,
including two tanks of fish, three cats, and two dogs. In her spare
time, she is very active in her church. |

Dr. Jill Savage

Dr. Jill
Savage is a 2001 graduate of the Michigan State University College of
Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed an internship
in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency and critical care at the
Companion Animal Hospital of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
She lives with her husband, Sean, and their son, Noah, born in September
2006. The rest of their family includes Finnegan, a yellow Labrador
retriever, cats Romeo and Hailey, a ball python named Obi, and fish.
When not working, Dr. Savage enjoys many hobbies, including reading,
writing, cooking, home improvement, and outdoor activities. |

Dr.
Kristina Yee is a 2006 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary
Medicine. Originally from Troy, she completed her undergraduate studies
at Michigan State University, spent 2.5 years on the Caribbean island of
St. Kitts studying veterinary medicine, and completed her clinical
training at The Ohio State University. With primary interests in
companion animal medicine and surgery, she is also passionate about
business management, professional development, and public speaking. When
she is not practicing or lecturing at veterinary schools, she loves
spending time with her family, taking her dogs (Ernie and Peanut) to the
dog park, and catching Detroit Tiger home runs at Comerica Park. Dr. Yee
joined the GVC family in the Fall of 2007, and looks forward to creating
many memorable friendships! |

Carol Carlsen

Carol has
been an employee of GVC since 1996. She finds the receptionist position
interesting and challenging. Many clients have become close friends
over the years. Working at GVC has helped support Carol's hobby of
showing, training, and breeding bearded collies. Wynsum Bearded Collies
produces wonderful family pets, outstanding show dogs, and agility
performance dogs. Many of her beardies are owned by clients and cared
for at this veterinary practice. GVC offers specialized care for
bearded collies. |

Luanne
Smith has been with GVC since it opened in March 1996. She divides her
time between GVC and developing her counseling practice, now that she
has completed her Master’s degree in counseling. She and her husband,
Dan, live happily with two greyhounds, seven cats, and an Amazon parrot. |

Karen Anderson

Karen,
Assistant Kennel Manager, takes pride in making your pet’s boarding
visits relaxing! Karen has been married since 1981 to Ken Anderson. She
has three children: Matt, currently working in the food industry; David,
a US Marine; and Katie, who is married to Ryan Haslett, a member of the
Air Force. Katie and Ryan have a son, Westyn. Karen has a cat named Zoe
and two dogs named Avery and Parker. |

Stacey is
a licensed veterinary technician who graduated from Macomb Community
College in 2004. Stacey and her husband, Travis, welcomed thier son,
Baron, on November 13, 2009. Their family also includes three cats:
Jasper, Marley, and Dylan. |

Deana Young

Deana is
a licensed veterinary technician and has been with GVC since 1998. She
received her degree from Macomb Community College and went on to earn a
BBA from Rochester College. Her family includes husband Matthew,
daughter Hilary, son Zachary, dog Cherokee, and horses Thunder and
Charity. |

Jill has
been caring for the animals in her role as Kennel Manager at GVC for
many years. Jill has shown horses on a local and national level since
she was a young girl, and continues to ride for fun. She lives in
Bingham Farms with her dog, Panda. |

Stacy has
been grooming dogs and cats at GVC's Pet Spa for almost 10 years and has
experience working with all breeds. She has a high standard of care
with good attention to detail and enjoys helping your pet look his or
her best! When not at the Pet Spa, Stacy enjoys landscape architecture
and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in that
field. She is also currently settling into her new home in Ortonville,
where she lives with her horse, Mikey, and cat, Loki, as well as Razz, a
boxer/lab mix. She looks forward to pampering your pet! |

Julie has
been a licensed veterinary technician since 1998, having earned her
degree from Macomb Community College. Julie has been an integral part of
the staff at GVC since 2001. Julie and her husband, Al, live with their
twin boys, Phoenix and J.D., in Sterling Heights. They share their home
with four furry children: Kacey, Tiger Kitty, Squirt, and Yoda. Julie
enjoys living out her childhood dreams every day here at GVC. |

Clara Pinkham

Clara
joined the GVC family in 2003 and enjoys getting to know GVC’s clients
and patients. She grew up in the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts
with a variety of pets (mostly strays who found their way to her home)
and spent a great deal of time as a child at the neighborhood vet’s
office. Clara lives in Rochester with her human family, two dogs, many
cats, hamsters, and the critter that makes noise in the attic. Clara is
also an avid knitter, seamstress, and weaver and she volunteers at
Heritage Spinning and Weaving in Lake Orion. |

Jessica
has been working for GVC since 2003. She recently got married and
resides at her family farm. Jessica is working hard to further her
education and is currently enrolled in the veterinary technology program
at Penn Foster College. After graduation, Jessica will become a
licensed veterinary technician here at GVC. |

LLeah
works in GVC's boarding facility and helps out when needed as a
technical assistant. She attended Wayne State University but is now
attending Macomb Community College to become a surgical technician. She
is also an emergency medical technician (EMT) and is CPR/AED certified.
In the future, she plans on becoming a human general surgeon, but
currently remains busy working at GVC and studying for her training at
school. Leah loves animals and is devoted to providing the utmost care
for your pets, whether they stay in boarding or come in for a check-up.

Deborah
recently moved from Canada to Rochester with her husband and dogs. She
has a business degree and a background in pharmaceutical sales and
investment banking. She and her husband, Don, became the proud parents
of twins, Madeline and Michael, in 2011. Her four-legged companions
include a weimaraner, Bella, and a Parson Russell terrier, Ripkin. She
enjoys competing in USDAA and AKC agility. |

Terri
Elliott graduated as a licensed veterinary technician from Macomb
Community College in 2001, and also holds an associate's degree in
business from Schoolcraft College. She joined the GVC team in 2010.
Terri has competed at the State Level in MHJA's hunter/jumper and
continues to pleasure ride. You can also find Terri on the golf course
in the summer and practicing on the bunny ski hill in the winter. She
resides in Oxford and has a golden retriever, Madison, and a Siamese cat
named Fuji. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, and
five grandchildren. |

Lindsay
Sidell has worked at GVC since 2010 and loves working with animals. She
is a licensed cosmetologist and is currently attending Wayne State
University to pursue her fashion merchandising degree. She hopes to move
to New York City and work for a major fashion label after graduation.
Lindsay currently lives with her parents and her sister, Leah, who also
works at GVC. Lindsay has a Jack Russell terrier named Scooter. |

Vicki
joined the GVC team in March 2010 as a veterinary assistant. She enjoys
working and caring for all types of animals and loves learning new
things about veterinary medicine. Vicki lives with her dog, Bindi, and
three cats named Lil Girl, Munchkin, and Tyson. She enjoys spending all
of her free time riding her horse, Havana, and spending time with her
family and friends. |

Candace Calahan is one of the more recent additions to the staff of GVC.
She loves working with animals and their owners on a daily basis. Her
pets include her cat, Hope, and her most recent adoption, Cinder, a
young kitten rescued from the middle of the road with fur singed off her
side from cars passing over her. Cinder was rescued by one of our kind
clients and immediately became a loved family member. |

Jessica Edwards

Jessica Edwards graduated from Macomb Community College's Veterinary
Technician program in 2011 and also earned an associate's degree in
general studies. She is passionate about animals, helping others, art,
crafting, and music. She also loves the outdoors and going boating.
Jessica's wonderful family includes five cats and two dogs. Her dream
is to live on a farm and further extend her family! |

Birdie
was born in 1998. She was rescued and lived with Dr. Savage for years
but eventually stopped getting along with the other two cats so she now
lives at GVC. Dr. Savage misses Birdie at home but is glad that Birdie
is happier. Birdie actually thinks she is the queen of the clinic! She
gets great care for her many health problems (heart failure,
inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis, kidney stones, arthritis, chronic
foot infections, and chronic upper respiratory disease). She loves
affection, drools when happy, and can be found napping in a sunny spot
on most days. |

Cocoa is
a very sweet old man. He has lived at GVC for several years now and is
over 20 years old! Despite his age, Cocoa is doing remarkably well and
finds greatest happiness sleeping in his bed under the reception desk or
rubbing on loved ones to get attention! |
